An inquest docket was opened and is being investigated by SAPS Swartkops following the drowning of a 22-year-old man who died while swimming with friends at Bluewater Bay’s main beach on Sunday morning, February 2.
According to police spokesperson, Captain Andre Beetge, the deceased had been swimming with friends since 06:00.
He stated that his friends attempted to perform CPR on him, as there were no lifeguards on duty at the beach at that time.
“He was declared deceased when the ambulance arrived at the scene.”
