FANS are expected to reach a fever pitch when the PE Comets’ 12th Annual Schools Basketball Tournament takes place at the Raymond Mhlaba Sport Centre in Motherwell from February 5 to 8.

According to PE Comets president, Sibongile Fondini, the motive behind running the tournament is to promote basketball at schools.

Fondini said, “This tournament is a platform to unearth talent. As the tournament enters its 12th year, we have managed to produce national players and the best coaches. Since we are a club with limited financial resources, we decided to sacrifice for the schools. We look forward to seeing school teams enjoying themselves on the basketball courts.”

The tournament will feature u/16 boys, u/18 boys, and u/18 girls. The schools participating in the tournament include Grey High, Khwezi Lomso Comprehensive School, Kingswood College, and Dale College, alongside local teams, Zwide Eagles, B-Blessed, and the hosts, PE Comets.
