Motherwell police have launched an urgent investigation following the fatal shooting of two men in NU12, Motherwell, yesterday afternoon, February 5.
According to police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg, it is alleged that at approximately 15:10, police responded to a report of a shooting at the corner of Tyinira Street and 1st Xhama Street.
“Upon arrival, they discovered a silver VW Polo with multiple bullet holes and the bodies of two male occupants inside.
“At this stage, the motive for the attack remains unknown, and no arrests have been made,” she added.
She further stated that the Provincial Serious and Violent Crime Investigation Unit is pursuing all leads to establish the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Police are appealing to anyone with information that could assist in the investigation to come forward.
