NMB Industrial Football Association Top 8 Competition Cup results
NELSON Mandela Bay Football Association hosted their top eight competition annual cup games at Dana and Shatterprufe Grounds on Sunday.
The 2024 winner, Heineken Distell, failed to finish in the top eight teams over the 2024 league season. League defending champions, Tenneco, showed no remorse after they demolished Dana Spicer 7-0 at Dana Grounds. In the 11-goal thriller, Continental claimed a 7-4 victory from Dana Spicer.
Aspen defeated Dairy Group Famous Brands 4-3 on penalties after their game ended in a 2-all draw at Shatterprufe Grounds. Durr Africa ran a riot of 3-1 in the demotion of Sasko at Shatterprufe Grounds.
All systems are set up for the semi-finals that will take place at Shatterprufe Grounds on the next Sunday. Tenneco and Continental will face each other in the first semi-final at 10:00. Dairy Group Famous Brands will lock horns with the tough side of Durr Africa during the last semi-finals at 11:30.
Old Grey and Royal Bucks lead stream log tables
SAFA Nelson Mandela Bay reigning league champions, Old Grey FC, keep collecting points as they lead Stream A, with Royal Bucks FC registering back-to-back victories to cement their top spot on the Stream B log table.
Old Grey FC thrashed Golden City Press FC 7-2 at SAPS Main Field in Mount Croix during their Stream A clash on Sunday.
Royal Bucks had a mammoth task to maintain their top spot after they earned a hard-fought 2-1 triumph over Madibaz Football during their Stream B encounter at Motherwell NU 11 Stadium on Saturday.
Shining Stars FC suffered a 1-0 away loss to Highland Spurs during their Stream A clash at Jabavu Stadium on Saturday. Bay Tigers thumped Eastern Cape Celtics FC 5-0 during a Stream A game at Veeplaas Turf Stadium. Real Madrid FC beat Red City FC 3-0 in their Stream A clash at Walmer Fields on Saturday.
Stinging Bees FC lost 1-0 to Real Celtics in their Stream B match at Chevrolet Stadium on Saturday. Red Lions FC shared a 1-1 draw with Young Aces FC in their Stream B encounter at Chevrolet Stadium on Saturday. Khipu Major Chiefs Sports Club earned an easy 7-2 win over Dynamos FC in their Stream B game at Khayamnandi Community Grounds on Sunday.
MOFA Welcome Home Annual Tournament results
The Motherwell Football Association (MOFA) Welcome Home Annual Tournament was played at Motherwell NU 11 Stadium on Saturday.
To the dismay of 18 teams’ supporters, several games did not take place at Motherwell NU 2 Stadium on Saturday. MOFA registrar, Bongani Tom, informed the 18 team managers that there was a miscommunication, as the stadium caretaker claimed he was not informed by any municipality official that MOFA was going to host the games at Motherwell NU 2 Stadium on Saturday. According to Tom, the postponed games will take place next Saturday.
Five games took place at Motherwell NU 11 Stadium on Saturday. PUBS claimed a 3-0 victory on penalties after a goalless full-time score. Arsenal FC went down 1-0 to Royal Bucks. Young Madrid First Division lost 4-2 on penalties to Tomorrow Stars following their 0-0 full-time score.
FC Angels succumbed 2-1 to Valencia FC. The goals for Valencia FC came courtesy of Lelethu Dyasi and Ludwe Sonjica, while Siviwe Sithethi scored FC Angels’ consolation goal. Delayed Soccer Stars FC did not turn up for their game against the tough Eleven Stars, who were awarded soft points.
Dan Qeqe Stadium buzzes with excitement
DAN Qeqe Stadium was buzzing with excitement on Saturday.
KwaZakhele side, Easterns RFC, faced Spring Rose RFC, affectionately called Cavalla by their supporters. The game ended with a very close 20-18 margin in favour of Cavalla.
Windvogel United RFC took on Harlequins RFC, who claimed a well-deserved 19-5 victory.
African Bombers RFC were on the receiving end after Motherwell RFC overcame them 26-24 during their clash. Glen Roses RFC earned an easy 17-7 victory when they played against Gelvan Wallabies RFC. Following their 8-6 loss to African Bombers last Saturday, Kwaru RFC redeemed themselves with a 14-3 triumph over Suburbans RFC.
