AN Extreme 4×4 Challenge will be hosted at the annual Wings and Wheels Festival at the Uitenhage Aerodome on Saturday.

A total of 62 vehicles have entered the 4×4 Challenge, some of which will be travelling from as far as Cape Town and Johannesburg.

The top truck class will be the highlight of the event and spectators can expect to see breathtaking jumps from the highly powered racing machines.

Several other classes will also be in action, including standard production bakkies. The day’s activities will include arts and crafts displays, food stalls, aircraft fly-ins and displays, classic and veteran car displays and stage entertainment and music in the evening.

The 4×4 Challenge will start at 08:00.

Entry is R80 per adult, R30 per child and anyone under the age of six enters free.

This will give festivalgoers access to all the activities, including a performance by four top artists, namely Deon Groot, Wikus van der Merwe, Elizma Theron and Snotkop.
