CALLIES are currently setting the pace in the PELFA Old Buck Gin League.

Last Wednesday, they won another high-scoring game, trouncing Priory 6-0. Karl Pereira scored Callies’ first goal 10 minutes into the first half. The half-time score was 1-0 in Callies’ favour. In the second half, the floodgates opened with goals from Nigel Bailey, David Brooks, Anton Bellairs, Dillon Germshuys and another from Pereira.

Kuyga Masters found their scoring touch again, beating Westpark 3-0 at Londt Park Sports Club. Isheunera Mazavarira’s goal five minutes into the game had them one up at half-time. Andile McClean came up with a goal 25 minutes into the second half and nine minutes before the final whistle, completed his brace to seal Kuyga’s win.

Mahle Old Grey had to work hard for their 2-1 win over NMBM at home. Scott Keevy and Andrew Beynon secured the win for Old Grey with goals in the 28th and 30th minutes of the second half. PE City got the better of St Albans 2-0. St Albans thus far have conceded 20 goals in the PELFA Old Buck Gin League.

African Leopards and Shamrocks shared the spoils with a two-all draw at The Oval. Naj Padachie had the Rocks up 1-0 at half-time.

For Leopards, Anele Tolwana found the back of the net midway through the second half and Kumarin Naidoo added the second goal a minute later. Tabo Simane equalised for Leopards from the penalty mark in the last minute of the game.

Central Acemates had the better of Fairview Rovers’ 2-0 night. Thembani Ngqoko scored 10 minutes into first half and Acemates’ second goal came from Thanduxolo Mapapu 10 minutes before the final whistle.
