Wells United skipper Ayabonga Phillip chases Real Strikers player Sibabalwe Jojana.

FOLLOWING recent dismal performances, Wells United FC managed to edge out Real Strikers RFC 2-0 in their Motherwell Football Association (MOFA) Premier League clash at Motherwell NU 9 Stadium on Saturday.

Fans were kept on their feet as the players displayed their football skills.

The goalkeepers stood their ground in the first half and they went to the break in a goalless draw.

Strikers midfielder cum striker Zolani Zane Mofu’s efforts went wide. Long-serving Unitedplayer Lucas Rhuu Mgushe scored the opening goal that separated the two sides.

Mofu could have pulled an equaliser for Strikers, but United’s goalkeeper was equal to the task. United stretched their lead to 2-0 after Mvuzo Kahla scored the last goal of the game.

In another game, Real Aces lost 2-0 to Young Ideas, while Young Tigers shared a 1-1 draw with Manchester FC.
