THE launch of the 13th annual Nelson Mandela Bay Mayoral Charity Golf Day took place on June 13.

The event, which is hosted by the Mark Headbush Foundation and Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality, has raised in excess of R2.5 million over the last 12 years, which has made a big difference in the lives for the less fortunate. All proceeds are used to improve education facilities in Nelson Mandela Bay.

“The success of the Mayoral Charity Golf Day over the past 12 years is testimony to the generosity of the private sector to improve the lives of the most destitute,” the Mark Headbush Foundation said in a statement.

“It is worth mentioning that the entire funds raised from the golf day are donated towards the cause of early education. Foundation phase education is critical to the development of our children to enable them to make a positive impact in our country.”

The golf day has become an important gathering of business executives, community leaders and government officials in support of a worthy cause. It serves as a platform for Executive Mayor Athol Trollip to address key corporate stakeholders.

Participants are treated to a fun and memorable day on and off the fairways.

The 13th Annual Nelson Mandela Bay Mayoral Charity Golf Day will take place at the PE Golf Club on October 12. For bookings and more info on the event, contact Busi on 083 416 5371 or mandelabaygolf@markheadbushfoundation.org.za.
