The Bay’s residents have spoken, and the Bay’s Finest businesses will be announced next week.

Over 6,000 nominations were received from Port Elizabeth Express readers for the best businesses in Gqeberha.

The top three in each category have been selected and will be announced in the Port Elizabeth Express next week.

A special booklet will also be published in print and e-publication next week where some of the winners will thank readers for choosing them and tell them more about the services they offer.

Categories for nominations ranged from services for in and around your home, your vehicle, health, fitness, and beauty to breakaway places and restaurants.

This list of winners will be a good reference guide for basically any service one would require in Gqeberha, as nominated by our readers.

Readers who completed the survey calling for nominations all stood a chance to win their share of R20,000 in cash via a lucky draw. PE Express previously reported on the top prize winner, Thandi Mgqwetho, born Johan Goosen. He won R10,000 in cash for nominating his favourite businesses in Gqeberha. This win came at the perfect time to take care of his medical needs. He received the call announcing him as the winner shortly after returning from the hospital where he underwent an operation.

Eleanore Delport was the second-place winner, bagging a cash prize of R3,500, with Francis Yewsiong taking third for a cash prize of R2,500. The rest of the cash prizes were given to 8 weekly winners who received R500 each.

Make sure you get your “Bay’s Finest” Readers’ Competition booklet next week in the PE Express or go to the PE Express Facebook page for a QR code to download the booklet for a quick reference to the Bay’s Finest businesses. The booklet and QR code will only be available from next week Wednesday (October 31).
