THE culmination of passions for fashion and the development of the youth gave rise to the NEXT Development Academy.

The academy, which was founded by Vivian Gardener and Amber Blommetjie, will be showcasing a range of extraordinary fashion from designers around the Bay.

The academy, which was established last year, has grown immensely, evolving into an academy with an outstanding reputation.

“I have always had a passion for the fashion industry and my colleague, Amber, has always focused on the youth.

“This is where both of us found a place in society where the youth can get their foot in the door in showcasing their fashion,” said Gardener.

There are currently around 70 young individuals from Port Elizabeth and Uitenhage studying at the academy.

The Glitz and Glam Fashion Show which will take place on Saturday, July 7, will be showcasing beautiful items from a wide variety of designers, giving them much-needed exposure.

“Our aim is to develop, empower and inspire the youth in a place where they can maximise their potential,” concluded Gardener.

The NEXT Academy prelaunch will start at La Dee Das in Salsoneville at 16:00 on Saturday.

General entrance is R50 and entrance for VIP is R80.
