SEVEN Sundowns Sports Club were ruthless when they tamed Young Tigers 4-0 in their Motherwell Football Association (MOFA) First Division match at the Motherwell NU 13 football field on Sunday.
Sundowns SC, affectionately called AmaQhawe, played carpet football with Soyama ‘Teenager’ Tshuku, Sandiso Sader Makoba and Lithemba Schalk Charlse, causing trouble for Tigers’ defenders.
AmaQhawe took the lead after Makoba had scored a volley from a long range in the first half. Makoba came up with his second goal from a set piece to increase Sundowns’ lead to 2-0.
In the second half, AmaQhawe started up where they left off. Tshuku scored a beautiful goal from an acute angle that increased his side’s lead to 3-0.
Head coach Mthunzi Zane Mrwebi was put into the fray. Tshuku and Zane played quick one-twos that confused their opposition, while Tshuku delivered a perfect cross that Zane squeezed into the far post to make the final score 4-0 in favour of Seven Sundowns SC.
In another game, Scorpion FC secured four league points in their two games. In their game, Scorpion salvaged a 3-3 with the gutsy Arsenal FC while in their second game, the Motherwell NU 5 outfit embarrassed NU 7 Citizens 3-1.
