BLOEMENDAL singer, Abigail Roses, will be making her mark in the gospel music industry as she releases her very first album this weekend.
Roses starred in PE FM’s The Ultimate Gospel Artist (TUGA) in 2016, and won first place in her first attempt at singing in the competition.
“I hadn’t tried entering any competitions previously as I was quite shy. So I couldn’t believe it when I was announced as the winner,” said Roses.
Her passion for gospel music started at the young age of 14 when she frequently performed alongside the church choir.
Her victory in the TUGA competition opened doors for a chance at becoming a solo artist.
“I had quite a difficult time with writing my own songs but I gradually grew into writing about my experiences and how I managed to overcome them through the word of God,” she said.
It was through this that Roses started her journey in compiling her album titled Unshakeable Kingdom, which will be launched on Saturday, July 21, at the Dower College in West End.
“My inspiration comes from singing for people who relate to my music and I am hoping that this album will provide people with a change of perspective in the trials and tribulations that they face and to know that all is possible,” said Roses
The event will feature various other gospel artists who will showcase their talent. There will also be lucky draws and giveaways at the event.
The Unshakeable Kingdom album launch will start at 18:00 and the tickets cost R50 per person.
