MOTHERWELL Masters side Sparks collected some silverware after they defeated PE All Stars 1-0 during the SAFA Nelson Mandela Bay Masters’/Legends’ Association Top 8 Competition finals at Chevrolet Stadium on Sunday, September 23.
Sparks Masters’ road to the finals started after they were awarded soft points over Villagers in the quarter-finals.
Villagers failed to pitch up for the game on time on August 5.
In the semi-finals on August 19, Sparks overcame Winners 2-0.
Stars had a great start on their road to the finals with a 3-2 win over Veeplaas during their quarter-finals match on August 5.
In the semi-finals on August 19, Stars had a hard-fought 1-0 victory over AmaUnits.
Thando Balla Gxwalintloko’s solitary goal was good enough to guide Sparks to claim a hard-earned 1-0 victory from the tough PE All Stars.
In first place, Sparks Masters were awarded a floating trophy and gold medals, while PE All Stars settled for silver medals.
In the promotional place, AmaUnits walloped Winners 4-1 in a one-sided affair.
AmaUnits were awarded bronze medals for their efforts.
