Mount Road detectives are investigating a case of robbery and attempted murder following an incident involving an e-hailing driver in North End on Friday, October 18.
Police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg, said that according to information, the complainant only reported the incident on October 24.
She said: “It is alleged that at approximately 18:45 on Friday, October 18, the e-hailing driver dropped off clients on Kirkwood Street. One client was sitting in the front, and as he exited the vehicle, he attempted to grab a cellphone that was on the dashboard.”
“The suspect could not remove it because it was fixed to the dashboard.”
“The complainant and the suspect had a scuffle; the complainant was stabbed in the chest, and the suspects fled,” she added.
“A case of robbery and attempted murder was opened, and the investigation is ongoing.”
