FOR 10 years Cedric Vandenschrik has been performing his show The Show Must Go On – A Tribute to Queen and Freddie Mercury, and this year is no exception.
Vandenschrik, who has worn many hats over the years including singer, songwriter, show producer and director, will bring Queen’s timeless music to the stage at Chicky’s Yard from November 29 to December 1.
The show, presented by Remo’s Italian in association with Centrestage, will be taking great care to recreate the live Queen sound and energy that made the band electric.
Vandenschrik will be upfront strutting his stuff as Mercury, complete with outrageous costumes and antics at times or sometimes just rediscovering the simple beauty of the band’s compositions.
He is joined by Johannesburg-based vocalist Candice Skylark to uncover some of the beautiful duets created by the legendary Queen.
Under the masterful musical direction of Shaun Johannes from Cape Town, the band consists of Axe Lourens on guitar and vocals, Shaun Johannes on bass, Connie Friedmann on keyboards and Kevin Gibson on drums.
This show will have the audience singing and rocking to the tunes of Bohemian Rhapsody, Another One Bites The Dust, I Want To Break Free, Radio Ga Ga, One Vision, We Are The Champions and many more.
The Show Must Go On will take place at Chicky’s Yard, Baakens Valley from November 29 to December 1 at 19:30.
Tickets at R300, which includes a picnic-style meal, are available from Computicket.
