OF all the stories that have been told, in all the lands and all the languages, the greatest storyteller of all time was Queen Scheherezade in the land of ancient Persia.
And of all the heroes of which she tells, the greatest one of all was Sinbad the Sailor.
In the tradition of the end-of-year pantomime that has become synonymous with Pemads, Port Elizabeth audiences can once again look forward to a magical presentation of Sinbad, the Sailor from November 28.
Steven Stead has penned this pantomime, which is ideal for the entire family, complete with those pantomime traditions of audience interjections, baddies, camels, swashbuckling heroes, beautiful heroines and the ultimate pantomime dame. This one is not to be missed.
Moving from his role of that delightful dame character over the last couple of years, multiple award-winner Leslie Speyers has stepped into the director’s role with the ease and passion of a true thespian. He is ably assisted by music maestro Richard Campbell as musical director and Sian-Beth Hitchner in the role of choreographer.

Sinbad, the hero of the story, will be played by Glen McIlroy, with Abigail Ranwell as his Marina. The delightful role of Dame Donna Kebab will be brought to life by Jaydee Daniel Mulder.
Sinbad, the Sailor will be staged at Pemads Little Theatre from November 28 to December 15. Tickets at R90 are available through Computicket.
