THE Port Elizabeth Riding Club, which is based in Lorraine, has been selected to host the prestigious Back on Track 2018 Youth Championship this month.
The event incorporates the SA Pony Rider and Junior Championships.
Competitors will ride in a number of disciplines, including show jumping, showing and equitation.
This event attracts top class riders from all over the country and they represent themselves at an individual level and their provinces at a team level.
Club chairperson, Charles Roberts, commented, “This show was last hosted in PE in 2013 and we currently have just over 237 riders entered to compete for these prestigious titles.
“We are privileged to experience this high level of riding in our city, and to gain substantial economic benefit in our community by being afforded the opportunity to host this show.”
The Port Elizabeth Riding Club has prepared for a spectacular event with many food stands, vendor stalls and entertainment.
Spectators are encouraged to attend. Entry is free. The show will run from December 7 to 15.
