THE Locally Yours Market will be celebrating its first birthday this weekend, promising a fun day filled with activities, food and entertainment.

The market will create an experience for local supporters and visitors to the “Friendly City” to celebrate its birthday edition. The products sold at the market are handmade, grown, crafted, cooked, baked and designed right here in the Eastern Cape by local entrepreneurs.

A few super prizes will be up for grabs at the market, including a “Private Chef Experience” valued at R2 800, loads of Locally Yours vouchers and super hampers from the vendors.

A special birthday cake will be made and sold in the form of donations to raise funds for the AACL (Animal Anti Cruelty League).

A gallery will be made available, which will display the work of Chantal Fielding, Sharon Boyd, The Association of Mouth and Foot Painters, as well as other local artists.

Food options include sushi, home-made pies, halaal curries, fresh oysters, decadent cheeses and something for the sweet tooth.

Marcellus Welman, an accomplished saxophonist, will perform musical favourites. There will be free parking around the venue and the Tramways Building is wheel chair friendly.

The market will take place on Saturday, March 2, at the Tramways Building, 16 Lower Valley Road, Baakens Valley from 09:00 to 15:00.
