Port Elizabeth Express recently treated staff at national advertising agencies in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban to a taste of Port Elizabeth’s own Masterton’s coffee.

The newspaper’s “EXpress-o” campaign was aimed at thanking these agencies for their support of the newspaper and its six sister publications in the Eastern Cape.

It was also a brand building campaign to highlight the strength of local free newspapers in the Eastern Cape market.

The agencies are responsible for the advertisements and inserts of national retailers, whose support helps to ensure that 285 000 free copies of Express newspapers are distributed in the province every week.

In their gift pack each staff member received a packet of filter coffee, which Mastertons blended especially for the EXpress-o drive, as well as a cup-filter to enjoy their cuppa in the office.

Masterton’s is celebrating its 95th birthday and recently relocated from their landmark roastery in Russell Road to Main Road, Walmer.
