THE PELFA Old Buck Gin Legends League saw a few high-scoring games take place on April 17.

PE City trounced Priory Shamrocks B 7-2. For City, Cliffy Murphy scored three goals in the first half, while the second-half goal was scored by Craig Minnie. Lindikhaya Speelman also scored one and Simplicius Imbayarwu got two.

Mahle Old Grey B got thumped 4-1 on their home turf. For NMBM, Shaun Sokiya scored 10 minutes into the game, while Lindonkosi Hashe netted in the 21st minute of the first half. The half-time score was 2-1. In the second half Mundo Gqirhana and Shaun Sokiya scored for NMBM.

St Albans and West Park had a tough game with West Park winning 5-3. West Park’s Lionel Terblanche scored early in the first half and put his second in 10 minutes into the second half. Arthur Chan King also found the net after that.

Alvin Erasmus scored from a fluff by the keeper after a set piece and St Albans scored just after that. King finished it off by collecting his brace for West Park with a cheeky back heel. In the second half West Park scored four goals, making the end tally 5-3 in their favour.

Callies and Mahle Old Grey A played out a 2-2 draw on Callies’ home turf. Callies scored in the 20th minute through a penalty by Kurt Petersen after Karl Perreira was fouled in the box. Old Grey equalized five minutes before half-time.

Callies made it 2-2 in the 15th minute of the second half as Petersen was fouled again and completed his brace of penalties. Central Acemates beat Kuyga 1-0, while the game between Leopards and Fairview Rovers was abandoned as the Westbourne Oval lighting was faulty.
