PAST and present members of the Rotary Club of Port Elizabeth West gathered at a formal dinner at the Beach Hotel recently, to celebrate its 50th anniversary as a service club in the city.
The speaker at the dinner was former Rotary district governor and club member, Kevin Dersley, who, coincidentally, was born in 1969, four months after the club was chartered.
Since inception, from its own fund-raising and from grants raised from other Rotary clubs across the world, the club has provided millions of rand for its projects aimed at the disadvantaged communities around our city.
