THE Old Buck Gin Legends League last week saw some high scoring games. Malabar Legends whipped Priory Shamrocks B 10-0.
Malabar’s scorers were Naj Padachie with three, Siven Naidoo, Angelo Jacobs and Jermaine van Rooyen with two each and Zayaan Verrie with one. Priory tried hard to break Malabar’s defence, to no avail.
NMB Municipality overcame West Park 6-1 on West Park’s home turf. For Municipality Mzwabantu Cita scored with a header from a corner kick. Lindinkosi Hashe added a second goal a few minutes before half time.
In the second half, John Gianakkis, Melikhaya Mdlalo, Mthunzi Skweyiya and Shawn Sokiya made it six for Municipality. Lionel Terblanche scored West Park’s lone goal early in the second half.
PE City had a good 5-2 win over Mahle Old Grey B. For City, Cliffy Murphy netted a hat trick, Derick Bailey and Mcweli Mdayi were the other goal scorers. For Mahle Old Grey B, Jason de Reuck netted in the first half and Jason Aitken scored in the second half. African Leopards were beaten 2-0 by Callies.
For Callies, a goal by Razeen Davids in the 15th minute of the first half and a second-half penalty for Kurt Petersen secured the win.
On Friday night, St Albans beat Malabar Legends 3-2 in a rescheduled game. St Albans’ first goal was scored by Akhona Dyaba after 13 minutes in the first half and their second goal scored by Mzwandile Geleba from a 22 metre drive into the far corner of the goals.
Thando Tangu scored their third goal, 15 minutes from the final whistle. Kishaun Pather and Zayaan Verrie netted for Malabar.
