TASNEEN Ebrahim, a Grade 11 learner at St Dominic’s Priory School, has been selected for the Swimming South Africa national elite senior squad for open water swimming.
She joins the squad alongside Olympic swimmers and current SA champions, Michelle Weber and Chad Ho.
Tasneen is currently ranked first nationally in the 10km for u/18, and second in both the 5km and 7,5km distances in her age group.
The squad will be looking to compete in the South African team at the 2019 European Cup, 2019 FINA World Swimming Championships and 2019 FINA 10km Marathon Swimming Cup.
Tasneen will also be focusing on qualifying for the 2020 FINA World Junior Open Water Championship to be held in the Seychelles.
Along with her open water swimming squad selection, Tasneen has also been selected to the Swimming South Africa youth squad for her pool swimming this season.
