THE Round Table Southern Africa’s Winter Knights campaign is an annual project that takes place during June and July

It was started about 15 years ago and aims at providing warmth and joy to residents who are destitute and in need of a helping hand, especially during the cold winter months.

The dancers from the Academy of Dance have supported this campaign for two years.

They collected blankets, clothes and non-perishables, which were handed over to the chairperson of Round Table Algoa 108, Simon Ward.

“We are so humbled to see young people, who are essentially the future of our country, involved in community projects,” said Ward.

“We are particularly proud to be associated with the young ladies from McWilliams Academy of Dance, who are so keen to make a difference in the lives of others and we thank them for their continued support,” said Ward.

“We are attempting to raise our children to be compassionate, to be mindful of those less fortunate and to be involved in as many community outreach projects as possible and we are very proud to be associated with this heart-warming initiative,” McWilliams Academy of Dance public relations officer, Vanessa Forbes added.

The public can get involved by dropping off donations at Algoa Toyota at the corner of Willow and Circular Drive in Fairview.
