DEBONAIRS Pizza Cleary Park celebrated Youth Day by bringing the Doughnation spirit to the Helenvale community.

As part of their CSI initiative, Doughnation, the Debonairs team rallied the community and created the Helenvale Cleanup Crew after noticing the piles of litter in the area.

The initiative was conducted by the Debonairs team, together with 300 Grades 5 to 7 learners from Hillcrest Primary School.

The learners were challenged to fill up 150 bags with litter from the areas surrounding the school. As a reward for their hard work, the learners received a free lunch, which was a choice between a pizza and a cooldrink or a burger, chips and a cooldrink.

Each learner also received a certificate of participation in recognition of the amazing job they have done for the community.

Debonairs area operations manager, Fabienne Roux, said Debonairs Pizza was proud of the amazing work that Hillcrest Primary School is doing for the community. “We hope that everyone works together to keep the area clean,” she said.

Several brands in the area also joined the Helenvale Cleanup Crew.

“Steers Cleary Park sponsored burgers and chips for the learners; Coca-Cola, who also run a recycling initiative at the school, sponsored cooldrinks; Sasko sponsored buns and Aco Chemicals provided all the clean up supplies,” said Roux.
