SEVEN Sundowns took Khuphuka Stars to cleaners when they thumped them 3-0 in their Motherwell Football Association (MOFA) First Division League clash, which took place at Motherwell NU 9 Stadium on Sunday.
The game got off to an electrifying start with both sides missing golden opportunities. Sundowns were supposed to have drawn first blood, but their centre-forward, Asisipho Barbie Charles’s efforts, went wide after Soyama Tshuku and Lithemba Charlse initiated some good build-up in front of the box.
The Blue Ribbon sponsored side piled more pressure on Stars, who were kept on the back foot. Just before the interval, Sundowns continued playing their one-touches that confused their counterparts, with Barbie Charlse scoring the opening goal in the 44th minute.
Sundowns started the last half of the game like a house on fire. Tshuku rounded two defenders and he banged in Sundowns’ world class goal in the 56th minute.
The side in yellow and emerald jerseys kept on winning the battle in the midfield, while their opponents, Stars, had to do the defensive duties.
Tshuku came up with his second goal after he received a perfect pass from Lithemba Charlse in the 79th minute.
Then Sundowns claimed a well-deserved 3-0 victory from Stars following their outstanding performance.
