TEN young horse riders, from First For Horses in Sardinia Bay, excelled at the Eastern Cape Championship, which was hosted by Border Equestrian Club in East London recently.
The team, which is coached by multiple-time Eastern Cape Championship winner, Diane Snodgrass Botes, won a number of categories.
Amber Botes won the 60cm pony rider championship and reserve championship for both 60cm and 70cm.
Dikeledi Reeks was the 70cm pony rider champion, while Asher Seeton-Smith came third in the same category.
Chazelle Smith won the 80cm pony rider championship and the 90cm reserve championship, while Tara Weise was the 1m pony rider champion.
Hannah Shrosbree was the 1.1m pony rider champion and Sam Seeton-Smith won the third place in the same category.
Klarissa de Jager won the 80cm junior rider championship, while Leandri Lewis-Reeks came in fourth place for the same category.
Caleb Seeton-Smith won third place in the 1m junior rider championship and reserve championship for both the 1.2m and 1.3m events.
The competition was a qualifying show for the South African Championships to be hosted by Kyalami Riding Club in December.
