THE Locally Yours Market is set to impress this October with authentic locally handmade products and an auction of a Sharon Boyd art piece in aid of the Animal Anti-Cruelty League.
The market will have a “Socktober” challenge on Sunday, October 6, at the Tramways Building from 09:00 to 15:00.
Market director, Annelize Botha, said the “Socktober” challenge posed to all market goers is based on the concept of filling up those single odd socks that have no mates with pet food, and to then deliver them to volunteers at the market. Each sock has the potential to supply one meal to a pet in the care of the AACL.
“Every household finds themselves in a quandary of what to do with those random unmatched socks and the Locally Yours Market has become synonymous at creative fun with a purpose.
“We encourage all market visitors to enjoy the superb market atmosphere while donating pet food to those who cannot speak for themselves,” Botha said.
Inventive meal options by food vendors will be showcased in the revitalised summer menu choices that will entice all foodies from meat lovers to vegetarians and vegans.
The Locally Yours Market continues to waive their entrance fee and instead ask for donations towards the Animal Anti-Cruelty League.
