FOLLOWING a long layoff, the Motherwell Football Association (MOFA) hosted a pre-season tournament, called the MOFA Welcome Home Tournament, at the weekend which attracted the multitudes to the Motherwell NU 11 Stadium.

The tournament started in a round robin system and will end in knockout system. The 30 teams were divided into eight groups.

On Saturday, fans saw Manchester United trouncing their neighbours, Real Aces 3-0, while City Rangers managed to overcome Manchester FC 2-0. The game that stole the show, which ended in a 1-1 draw, was between Showvillage United and Young Madrid.

The game between Young Romans and Swartkopsvalley United Brothers ended in a stalemate. FC Motherwell salvaged a well-deserved 2–0 victory from Milan Stars.

On Sunday, United FC defeated the tough Future Stars 2-0, with Arsenal FC overcoming Seven Sundowns 2-0.

Tomorrow Stars secured an easy 2-0 victory over Highland Spurs, whose forwards failed to convert golden scoring opportunities.

Despite their 2-0 loss, Motherwell United gave Crystal Palace a run for their money.

Shining Stars had to dig deep to earn a 1-0 win over Royal Bucks, while Eleven Stars beat Young Tigers 1-0 in a tough encounter.
