ONE of Nelson Mandela Bay oldest companies, Marina Sea Salt, injected funds into the development of Port Elizabeth East Football Association (PEEFA), while the top-performing sides received the fruits of their labour at the 2018/19 PEEFA League function at Veeplaas Community Stadium on Saturday.
The top eight on the PEEFA Premier League table received prizes. League winners United Brothers walked away with a floating trophy, a prize of R15 000 and gold medals.
The runners-up, Young Aces, went home with a prize of R10 000 and silver medals, while the third placed Peace Lovers won a prize of R7 500, and the fourth placed side Real Lions received R3 000. Then the last four teams were awarded a prize of R1 000 each.
In the PEEFA First Division, league winners Young Aces received a floating trophy, gold medals and a prize of R3000 while Real Lions got R2 000 plus silver medals.
The U/13 and U/15 league winners, Golden Stars and Young Aces respectively, received a full set of kit and gold medals, with their runners-up walking away with silver medals, 20 training bibs and training cones.
Teams that finished on number three to number 10 on PEEFA Junior League U/13 and U/15 tables received balls and some training equipment.
Oscar Makinana, from Marina Sea Salt, thanked PEEFA clubs for not bringing into disrepute the brand of Marina Sea Salt.
Makinana congratulated the winners and encouraged the other teams too.
Makinana also urged the youth to take the sport seriously.
