FOR the third year in a row, the Cape Women’s Agricultural Association’s Acqua branch will host the“Art is a Favour” art exhibition, on November 6 and 7, in aid of CANSA Eastern Cape.

This event will take place at Port Elizabeth Golf Club (PEGC) in Westview Drive, Mill Park. More than 50 Eastern Cape artists have agreed to donate their time and talent with an original artwork, 35 cm x 40 cm in the medium of their choice.

The artists were in no way prescribed or dictated to with regard to their creations. They were only expected to donate the finished artwork to CWAA Acqua to be auctioned in aid of CANSA EC. It will be a silent written auction and art lovers will be able to bid on any artwork from as little as R250 and as much as R1 000. The person with the highest bid on any given artwork will be announced during a cocktail party. Artists are not remunerated or paid commission in any way or form, hence, they ultimately do CANSA a favour with the donation of their art. All funds raised are in aid of CANSA EC. On November 6 from 14:00-20:00, entrance will cost R10 per person, and November 7 from 14:00-17:00 also at R10 per person. The cocktail party will take place at 18:00 on November 7, at R75 per person. – REPORTER
