Our 72-bed facility is the first Netcare Akeso mental health facility in the Eastern Cape, and is centrally located in the heart of Walmer, Gqeberha.
We are licensed with the Department of Health to treat both adolescents (aged 12-18 years) and adults and offer professional assistance for mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, bipolar mood disorder, trauma-related disorders, and other mental health concerns. Our inpatient programmes provide an intensive option for treatment. Outpatient consultations are also available.
The treatment plan for those in our care includes psychiatric consults, psychology consults, and a group therapy programme informed by the Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) approach. The group therapy programme is skills focused, equipping you with tools that can be used throughout your mental health journey.
Our multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers – including psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapist, and nurses – is committed to providing compassionate care to you and your family.
