Vintage in the spotlight for hospice

‘Oh, it’s so pretty!’ This spontaneous comment, from a first-time visitor to the recently opened Vintage Shop at St Francis Hospice in Taybank, summed up the atmosphere of this little space. Although small, the shop also boasts a variety of merchandise, including gently used clothing, bric-a-brac, costume jewellery, DVDs, books and magazines. Stock is rotated regularly so there’s always something new on offer. Patrons can also order a cup of coffee or tea and sit on the patio. The shop may be a little bit off the beaten track, but it’s fast becoming one of Port Elizabeth’s best kept secrets.
