THE Alexander Road High School Concert Band is gearing up to present a music trivia fund-raiser on Friday, February 28.

The fund-raiser is being held in aid of Joy of Hearing, a non-profit organisation that provides financial and emotional support to those needing cochlear implants.

The trivia competition will take place in the Percy Walker Hall at Alexander Road High School on February 28 at 18:00.

It promises to be a fun-filled evening with Cliffie Kleb leading the teams through question rounds including movie themes, ’80s classics, and South African music, as well as challenging their knowledge of the great classical composers.

All the music for the trivia questions will be provided live by the band, which is made up of 50 talented Alexans ranging from 14 to 18 years of age.

There will be food trucks and stalls and many prizes up for grabs for the winning team, as well as spot prizes and lucky draws taking place during the evening.

There will also be a raffle on the night for a hamper. Tickets are R100 each or R650 for a table of eight. Tickets are available directly from the school bursar at 041 395 7414 between 07:30 and 15:00.
