WOODRIDGE College will be presenting the farcical comedy, Play On!, from the pen of the American playwright Rick Abbot, in the Woodridge College Hall from Thursday to Saturday, March 26 to 28.

In the show, a group of amateur actors have decided to produce a play called Murder Most Foul, a new murder mystery with the same title as an Agatha Christie novel but with no relation whatsoever, written by a local novice playwright.

There are jarring personalities, budding romances, a famous jewel and a playwright who can’t stop changing her mind (and the script). Will the director and her cast and crew be able to get the show on the boards in time for opening night?

The thespians may have bitten off more than they can chew.

The production follows hot on the heels of the award-winning school productions of District Six (2017), Almost, Maine (2018) and Alice Through the Looking Glass (2019).

Play On! will, once again, be directed by Caren Bestbier, head of dramatic arts at Woodridge College.

Bestbier is an award–winning stage manager, lighting and set designer, with more than 20 years’ experience in the theatre.
