THE Forest Hill Neighbourhood Watch (NHW) recently received a community signboard donation from Fidelity ADT, a local private security company.
Fidelity ADT branch manager for Port Elizabeth, Ryan Britz, said they worked closely with the Forest Hill NHW team and continuously looked to find new ways in which they could support them.
“We discussed the possibility of a community signboard with the NHW chairperson, Ian Bezuidenhout and his team, and made the arrangements to get this done,” said Britz.
He said visibility in the community safety was a key element of a successful campaign, as it served as a deterrent to any would-be criminals. This included patrols or officers on streets, as well as signage that indicated the presence of local community projects.
“The new signboard not only served as a warning to criminals but also provided valuable peace of mind and useful info to members of the community,” Britz explained.
The signboard includes the logos of all role-players in the area and has the CIC contact number which helps to proactively report anything suspicious.
The 086 12 12 210 number is linked to the Community Information Centre (CIC), a control room at the Fidelity ADT premises that serves the greater Port Elizabeth community.
“The CIC receives hundreds of calls each week and has become a reliable tool for all residents within our beautiful city,” said Britz.
