A light aircraft carrying two passengers crashed this morning, October 30, near Johan Muller Avenue in Jeffreys Bay.
According to the spokesperson for the Paradise Neighbourhood Watch, Annekie Heyns, the two people who were travelling in the light aircraft sustained minor injuries.
“The Paradise Neighbourhood Watch was the first on the scene. When we arrived at the scene we assisted with a fire water trailer in case of a fire while we waited for the fire trucks to arrive,” said Heyns.
According
to municipal spokesperson, Laura-Leigh Randall, the light aircraft crashed while
attempting to make an emergency landing at the Paradise Airfield near Jeffreys
Bay this morning at about 07:30.
“There
were two men in the aircraft, one escaped uninjured while the other sustained
minor injuries,” she said.
“The
Kouga Fire and Disaster Management responded after being alerted by the
Paradise Beach Neighbourhood Watch.”
Randall
said the incident has been reported to the SA Aviation Authority in Midrand.
The police were approached for comment and it will be added as soon as we receive it.
