The South African National Zakah Fund (SANZAF), in conjunction with Afri Save Cash and Carry, is behind the project.

The aim of this initiative is to prove recipients, who are struggling with health challenges in the midst of the difficulties brought by the outbreak of the pandemic, with healthcare kits to help them fight and prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Through this project, families that are affected by COVID-19 are provided with an opportunity to request and receive a healthcare package, to assist recipients that have tested positive with medicine and vitamins, which will help them to fight the virus.

The healthcare packs include 5-litre bottles of water, 1.2kg of bananas, 1kg bag of lemons, an instant soup pack and a 500ml alcohol-based hand sanitiser. SANZAF also provided fumigation and disinfection service to households with family members that have COVID-19.
