SAPS Kabega Park detectives are seeking the community’s
assistance in tracing a 16-year-old teenager who went missing yesterday from
his home at Plot 51 in Old Cape Road in St Albans.
According to police information, the incident occurred at round
about 13:30 yesterday.
“The teen’s grandmother Veronica Zaaiman (71), was in the
bathroom and her grandson, Daniel Zaaiman was making lunch for himself in the
kitchen. When she returned to the kitchen, she noticed that her grandson was
nowhere to be found and she started looking for him.
“She then drove in her car towards the main road, which is
Cape Road. As she reached Cape Road, she saw to two females who were standing
next to the road and they informed her that they saw him getting into a white
car (make and registration unknown),” police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla
Naidu explained.
The teens school bag is also missing, and he was last seen
wearing shorts and a t-shirt. According
to his friends, Daniel indicated at some time that he would like to go to his
mother in Van der Bijl Park. However, his
mother was contacted but she bears no knowledge of him coming to her.
“Anyone who many know of Daniel’s whereabouts or may be able
to assist police with any information relating to his disappearance is asked to
