Police in Kabega Park confiscated drugs worth an estimated
R1,5 million at a house in Van der Stel Street yesterday morning (Sunday) at
approximately 10:00.

According to police spokesperson, Col. Priscilla Naidu, it is
alleged that members of the Anti-Gang Unit received and followed up on
information about drugs at this specific house. When police arrived at the
house, an unknown male exited through the back door, jumped over a wall and
ran. “Upon searching the property for any other occupants, they found numerous
amounts of dagga stored in jars. Thereafter, a thorough search of the house was
conducted and a total of 4,996kg of dagga heads, magic mushrooms, dagga sweets
and a small amount of cash were confiscated,” Naidu said.

“The estimated value of the drugs is over R1,5 million. An
enquiry docket was opened for further investigation,” she added.
