THE South African Football Association (SAFA) said, in a recent statement, that the national executive committee has resolved to allow amateur football to resume and this will happen in stages.

Clubs can commence training with immediate effect, while amateur leagues can resume at the beginning of March.

The SAFA COVID-19 health and safety directive must be observed by all clubs and leagues at all times.

“The association would like to appeal to clubs, SAFA regions and SAFA provincial structures to adhere to the SAFA COVID-19 health and safety directive at all times to mitigate the risk of spreading the virus.

“The association will like all amateur teams to develop registers for use during training sessions and matches and for all teams to buy scanners for checking temperatures at all times.

“Teams must also ensure that no spectators are present at training sessions or matches,” the statement concluded.
