SEYISI-BASED Lovers Lane Netball Club were caught by surprise when an NGO, Unity Through Sport, donated food parcels to them on March 4.

Unity Through Sport helps to train learners in different kinds of sport and equips them with life skills.

The programme is manned by student teachers from England, Germany, France and other European countries during their university holidays.

According to the Lovers Lane NC head coach, Luthando Heshu, it was a touching moment for their club when Unity Through Sport brought the food parcels to their club, in order to make sure that their soup kitchen delivered for the less fortunate people.

She said that they have been digging deep into their own pockets to buy food so that they could prepare meals for their community in KwaZakhele.

Lovers Lane NC president, said they were overwhelmed by the generous donation.

Ngindana said, “First of all, I would like to express our heartfelt thanks to PE Express for covering our fist story about our soup kitchen.

“However, Unity Through Sport have helped a lot and, as such, I would like to express our special thanks to them.

“Our children will have some delicious soup. Once again, I say thank you, Unity Through Sport,” Ngindana said.
