The Feather Market Organ Society will present its annual Christmas Concert in the Feather Market Hall on Wednesday, December 4 at 13:00.
Proceeds from this always very popular concert will be donated to charity.
Four organists, Christiaan Carstens, Albert Troskie, Romano Jonathan and Justin Stone, will perform festive Christmas music on the large pipe organ.
The guest artist will be the dramatic soprano from Cape Town, Zanne Stapelberg, performing attractive works for the festive season, including O Holy Night, Joy to the World, Laudate Dominum, Maria Wiegenlied, and the Ave Maria by Massenet.
Flautists Dr Leonard Heydenrych and Erna Cloete, will treat the audience to superb flute playing, including the popular Dance of the Blessed Spirits.
Lovely choir singing will be presented by the In Praise Ensemble choir, conducted by Siphe Kepe, while trumpeter, Tuan Phalla, will give a virtuosic performance, including The Twelve Days of Christmas.
The piano and organ duo, Erika Bothma and Albert Troskie, will play two arrangements of Christmas music, and the concert will end on a high note with the audience singing a well-known Christmas carol, accompanied by all musicians.
Admission is R50, R40 for pensioners and R10 for children.
No pre-booking. Tickets will be at the door. The concert duration will be around 75 minutes.
