THE New Brighton Football Association (NEBFA) Right Play Health Services League resumed its programme, without supporters, at the New Brighton Oval Stadium on Saturday and Sunday.

NEBFA communications and marketing officer, Phillip Ntate Tsoaelo, stated that they were happy that their league had resumed after the long layoff due to COVID-19.

Tsaoelo said, “We are extremely happy to see our teams playing. COVID-19 has delayed us for a long time and our clubs are more than ready for the league. The reason why we unveil this NEBFA Right Play Health Services League trophy is to motivate our clubs.

“This single-round league is played by 18 premier league sides and 14 first division sides.

“There are awards for the individual players and coaches with excellent performances,” he added.

Eastern Jumpers were not friendly to Friendly City in their 3-1 victory, while White City drew 2-2 with Boast Pirates.

Pondo Stars played to a goalless draw against City Defenders. Despite their 1-0 loss, CCX Callies gave Real White City a run for their money.

Winter Rose registered an emphatic 7-1 victory over Roaring Tigers, while Dodgers FC overcame PE Rovers 3-1. Red City, also known as Umzobomvu, collected three league points in 2-0 triumph over Bush Bucks.
