IT was ecstasy for the loyal supporters of Motherwell School of Excellence (MSE), after their side defeated Roaring Tigers 2-1 in their SAFA Nelson Mandela Bay (NMB) SAB Regional League tough home game at Motherwell NU2 Stadium, on Sunday.

The home side came into the game brimming with confidence, after they overcame Stinging Bees 2-1 at Motherwell NU2 Stadium on Saturday. Mandilakhe Njaba scored MSE’s opening goal in the first half.

The Tigers came up strongly and took the game to their counterparts. The New Brighton team did not have a run on Saturday after their opponents Westville Academy failed to pitch up for the game. The home side managed to maintain their lead until halftime.

Tigers scored their goal courtesy of Siyabonga Ngqola in the second half. MSE led 2–1 after they were awarded a penalty that was scored by Sibongile Punisher Marali. The tempo of the game was very fast, with each side searching for goals.

MSE finished the game with 10 men following a red card that was given to Marali with about 15 minutes left. Be as it may, the home side defended their lead until the fat lady sang.

In another tough game, Camper United played into a 1–1 draw against the Major Chiefs youthful side at Motherwell NU2 Stadium. Sinesipho Pefile broke the ice, scoring a superb goal for Chiefs. Chiefs’ keeper was adjudged to have caught a ball outside the box, as such the referee gave him a yellow card and Camper’s skilful midfielder, Sibulele Mekuto, scored an equaliser from the set piece.
