Police
members from Border Policing attached to the Port of Ngqura confiscated illicit goods from a retail store in Korsten on Friday, June 18.

The total amount of the confiscated items were R230 000.

These are some of the fake goods confiscated from a retail store in Durban Road, Korsten.

Police spokesperson, Col. Priscilla Naidu, said that police searched the premises of a retail store in Durban Road at approximately 10:00 on Friday when they made the discovery.

“They seized 430 cartons of fake cigarettes, 1 538 tubes of various creams, 25 cartons of tobacco and 22 loose packets of tobacco,” Naidu said.

“The total amount of the
confiscated goods were R230 000,” she added. 

The 35-year-old owner was warned but not charged and the illicit goods were
seized by Border Policing members.
