KURUMAN – To bolster healthcare services within the region, Kumba Iron Ore supported a funding request from Kuruman District Hospital to upgrade its facility signage.

This follows a recent assessment by the Office of Health Standards Compliance (OHSC) which found the District Hospital non-compliant regarding its directional signage and public notices.

Kumba funded the procurement and installation of 131 internal and external signage, making navigation on the premises easier for patients and medical staff.

“As a critical medical hub for the region which provides vital healthcare services for both rural and urban communities, addressing these compliance gaps not only improves the patient experience but contributes to lowering barriers associated with quality healthcare,”says Kealeboga Pilane, project lead and SED Officer at Kumba Iron Ore.

Kuruman District Hospital CEO: Kesaobaka Colane, says a well-signposted facility creates a more organised, professional, and welcoming environment. The signage makes a meaningful contribution to improving functionality, accessibility, and overall patient experience within the hospital.
