The Kimberley Harriers Running Club hosted a drop-and-go event to support the objectives of the annual World Hunger Day, which was observed on 28 May.

During the event on 24 May, donations of non-perishable food items could be dropped at the collection point at the Engen filling station in Oliver Road.

Individuals and members of any running club were also welcome to join Kimberley Harriers for a 10km or 15km weekend run.

The club thanks all who took part in the drop-and-go event, as well as the running event. Ria Janse van Vuuren, club secretary, says they are very happy with all the food items donated. More than R2 000 cash was also donated, from which more food was bought.

All donations were provided to the Meals on Wheels community service in the
Northern Cape who provides a few thousand meals every day.
