Kfm Best of the Cape Awards announced this year’s finalists, and the Overberg is flying the flag high again!

With a strong showing of finalists in multiple categories the Overberg earned its place among the Cape’s top contenders, with public voting now open until 13 August.

This multi-finalist showing reflects the diversity and strength, not to mention the quality, of the Overberg’s tourism and hospitality offering, what with its local restaurants, markets, adventure experiences, wedding venues and weekend stays.

Hermanus, Gansbaai, Stanford, Onrus and Kleinmond are home to some of the Cape’s top contenders in respective categories. From Hermanus’ renowned food and outdoor experiences to Gansbaai’s adventure attractions and Stanford’s sought-after accommodation destinations.

Overberg finalists

In recent years the region has built a proud track record, expressed particularly in terms of accolades. Previous winners include Hermanus MTB Trails, Southern Right Charters, The Elgin Railway Market and The Houw Hoek Farm Stall.

This year’s finalists in the Overberg area are:

* Best Breakfast Spot: Burgundy Restaurant;

* Best Date Night Restaurant: Char’d Grill & Wine Bar;

* Best Pet Friendly Restaurant: Milk on the Beach;

* Best Local Craft Beer: Old Harbour Brewery;

* Best Farm Stall: Houw Hoek and Peregrine;

* Best Kids Party Spot: Whale of a Time Play Park;

* Best Market: Elgin Railway Market and Hermanus Country Market;

* Best Weekend Stay: Blue Crane Farm Lodge in Botrivier;

* Best dorpie: Greyton

Now it is up to the Overberg community to vote and help local businesses claim provincial honours once again. Voting closes on 13 August and winners will be announced on 21 August 2026.
