The Overberg has a proud track record in one of the Western Cape’s most popular annual competitions, and now it’s time to fly the flag once again.
Nominations for the KFM 94.5 Best of the Cape Awards, powered by Yoco, opened yesterday – and local businesses, restaurants, experiences and hidden gems across the Overberg are counting on their communities to show up and nominate.
Nominations run from 7 to 17 July. Finalists will be announced on 29 July, with public voting opening on 30 July and closing on 13 August. Winners will be celebrated on Awards Day on 15 August.
The Overberg has consistently proven it can hold its own against the Cape’s biggest names. In recent years, the region has produced an impressive list of winners and top finalists that any community would be proud of: Char’d Grill & Wine Bar (Hermanus) – Silver, Best Date Night Restaurant (2025); Peregrine Farm Stall – Best Farm Stall (2024); Hermanus MTB Trails – Best Place to Sweat (2024); Southern Right Charters (Hermanus) – Best Adventure Experience (2021); Houwhoek Farm Stall – Best Farm Stall (2021 & 2022) and Elgin Railway Market – Best Market (2022).
Previous finalists have also included Mosaic Lagoon Lodge in Stanford, De Uijlenes in Gansbaai, Fatbike Tours in De Kelders, Shark Lady Adventures in Hermanus and Old Mac Daddy in Grabouw – proof that this region is brimming with world-class experiences.
